Basketball SA conducts competitions for over 600 games per week across 10 venues in South Australia. This many games facilitates the need for large numbers of quality referee coaches. Every year, a range of training courses are run for referee coaches across the state catering for beginners through to very experienced referee coaches.

Basketball SA’s approach to referee coaching is based around providing an environment of continual development and support to our referee coaching.

Basketball SA is seen as leader in Australia for developing new and innovative programs and ways to recruit, train and retain referee coaches. Many of these programs form the basis of the national development program.
