STATE TOURNAMENTS

SA Junior Championships
The SA Junior Championships is the premier event on the SA Basketball calendar, and has been running for over 25 years. It involves 200 metropolitan and country teams playing over 500 games in 10 venues over 4 days in Adelaide. In addition to determining the best representative teams in the state, the tournament is also used to determine qualification and seedings for the Melbourne Classic and the Under 14 National Club Championships.

SA Country Championships
The SA Country Championships are a series of tournaments which feature teams representing country associations across South Australia. There are separate tournaments for Under 12s/14s, Under 16s/18s and seniors.

DEVELOPMENT TOURNAMENTS

Pacific Coast Slam
The Pacific Coast Slam is an annual development tournament run in Port Macquarie, NSW. It features elite under 15 and 17 boys and girls teams from SA, NSW, Victoria, Queensland and NZ. SASI teams participated in this tournament from 2001-2006, and SA Country participated in 2007.

East Coast Challenge
The East Coast Challenge is a new development tournament run at the Hills Basketball Stadium in Sydney. It features elite under 16 boys teams representing the ITC (Intensive Training Centre) programs in SA, NSW, Victoria and ACT.

Australian Junior Country Cup
The Australian Junior Country Cup is an annual development tournament for state country teams, run in Albury, NSW. It features the country teams from SA, WA, Victoria, NSW, ACT, NT and NZ.

NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS

National Junior Championships
The National Junior Championships are a set of national tournaments involving Australia's elite junior players and coaches. Separate tournaments are run for Under 20, 18 and 16 state teams, Under 14 club teams, and secondary school teams. The Under 20 National Championships is combined with the Ivor Burge National Championships for people with an intellectual disability.

School Sport Australia Tournament
School Sport Australia runs an annual basketball tournament for state teams of primary and secondary school students. SA does not enter a team in the senior school competition, but does enter a SAPSASA team in the primary school competition.

Pacific School Games
The Pacific School Games (PSG) is an international sporting event for primary and secondary school students aged ten to nineteen, held every three to four years.  It is the flagship event of School Sport Australia.
