REFEREE MEMBERSHIPS

Referees who officiate in any competition run by Basketball SA are required to be financial members of the Referee body and complete an annual registration form (or for continuing referees verify their current details). Membership will be from October each year through to September the following year. This corresponds to the Summer and Winter seasions of the District and social competitions and incorporates the CABL season.

Current membership for 12 months is $15.00 though a referee who is selected to a development program of SRDP/NRDP and/or offered a position on the development Panels 1, 2 or 3 may be required to pay an additional fees on acceptance to the program/panel.

New referees who join after the 31st May will have their fee for the current year waived as they adjust to the requirements of referee education and consider their options for future development within the pathways and panel structure. Full membership will be required from the following October.

A new payment system (Membership card) will be introduced over the summer season 2012/13 commencing with all referees within the District competition and expanding to include all referees in competitions run by Basketball SA. Click HERE for more information.

Funds generated from membership go directly back into referee development especially at the grass roots level and enable referees to be covered by Basketball SA Sports Injury & Personal Accident Insurance policy.
