Officiating Development Manager Appointed

I am pleased to announce that Mike Gibson has been appointed to the role of Officiating Development Manager for Basketball SA.

The Officiating Development Manager is a pivotal role within Basketball SA and is responsible for the implementation and delivery of education, development and training programs for referees, statisticians and score table personnel across South Australia.

The key focus for Mike over the coming months will be to implement local stadium refereedevelopment plans, including education and training to Court Supervisors responsible for the feedback and development of stadium officials. Mike will also be responsible for working with SA Country to build referee numbers in local country associations and provide regional development opportunities.

Mike has been selected to fill this important role because of his blend of skills and experience that he can bring to the role, including:

·         CABL officiating

·         Level 3 Accreditation

·         Current Referee Coach and Assessor

·         Current Competitions Committee member

·         Former country official in Western Australia

Mike shall start in the role from August 2nd, 2010.
