South Aussies named in teams for London 2012

The Australian Opals and Boomers have announced their teams for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Congratulations to South Australians Laura Hodges (nee Summerton), Abby Bishop, Brad Newley and Joe Ingles who have been selected to represent Australia at the 2012 London Olympics.

Having also represented Australia at Athens and Beijing, London will be Hodges' third Olympic campaign. For Bishop, London will mark her second Olympic appearance. After falling short of the Gold for the past three years, Hodges, Bishop and the rest of the Opals will be pushing for the Gold.

The Opals are up against the hosts Great Britain for their first game on Saturday 28th July.

Soon to be dual Olympians, Joe Ingles and Brad Newley will be looking to help Australia do what they have never done before - get their first ever Olympic medal.

They face Brazil in their first match on Sunday the 29th July.
