Paul Arnott has been appointed as head coach of the SA Metro Under 16 Men’s team for the fourth time. Paul has been involved in the SASI program for 10 years and coached a number of Under 15 and 16 SASI teams at the Pacific Coast Slam and East Coast Challenge. He has also coached many Forestville junior teams including two that qualified for the Under 14 Boys Australian Club Championships.
Marcus Wong returns for his second year as head coach of the SA Metro Under 16 Women’s team, having been a state team assistant coach on three previous occasions. Marcus has been a coaching director at both Sturt and Forestville and coached many teams at both clubs at junior and senior level. He has also been assistant coach with the Adelaide Lightning in 2006/2007.
Troy Schroeder returns for his fifth year as a state head coach, and his fourth with the SA Metro Under 18 Women. Earlier this year, Troy guided this team to a silver medal at the National Championships in Tasmania. In recent years he has also coached Under 14, 16 and 18 teams at Norwood and has had previous coaching appointments with SA Country at the Australian Junior Country Cup.
Michael Chrisan returns for his second year as head coach of the SA Metro Under 18 Men’s team, after a bronze medal win in his debut year. Michael has had a variety of coaching experiences in different age groups at both Forestville and Sturt. He is also involved as a coach with the SASI program, and in 2009 he was selected for the Basketball Australia Interstate Coaching Exchange program.
Tony Casella has been appointed as head coach of the SA Under 20 Men's team for the fourth consecutive year having won a silver medal in 2010 and a bronze earlier this year. He has had previous coaching experience at both Forestville and Sturt with his most recent appointment to the South Adelaide Central ABL Men’s team. In 2006, he attended the Australian Junior Camp and in 2008 he coached the Forestville Under 18 Boys team to a silver medal at the National Junior Classic.
Brenton Johnston debuts as head coach of the SA Under 20 Women’s team. He has been an assistant coach at state level on three previous occasions. Brenton has coached Eastern’s Central ABL Women, and assisted at that level at Eastern, Norwood and North Adelaide. Brenton also coached junior teams at North Adelaide for over 10 years.
Kellie Pacis has been appointed to coach the SA Ivor Burge Men’s team for the fourth year. Kellie led the team to a silver medal at the National Championships in 2009, and in 2008 was the national recipient of the Basketball Australia award in the category of Male Coach for People with an Intellectually Disability.
Robyn Wooden returns for her second year as head coach of the Ivor Burge Women’s team. Robyn is a level 1 accredited coach who has previous coaching and coordinating experience with inclusive programs at both Eastern Hills Basketball Association and Pasadena. Robyn is also involved in coaching with Forestville Eagles.
