2012 Australian Development Camp

Basketball Australia has named the athetes invited to attend the 2012 Australian Development Camp in September.

South Australia will be well represented at the camp, both on and off the court.

After great performances at the recent U16 National Championships, Jade Johnson (SA Metro / Forestville Eagles), Demi Skinner (SA Country [Barossa Valley] / Central Districts) and Morgan Yaeger (SA Metro / Forestville Eagles) were selected for the Women's squad. Austin Clarke (SA Metro / Forestville Eagles) and Sam Stafford (SA Country / Mt Gambier) have made the squad for the Men.

Jade Johnson led the Women in the scoring for the U16 Championships with an average of 21.3 points per game and was top in the Free Throw Percentage (87.9%).

Demi Skinner was 3rd top scorer (averaging 16.4 points per game) and in the top 10 for rebounds.

Austin Clarke was 5th in rebounds, averaging 9.5 per game, and Sam Stafford shot well from the foul line coming in 4th overall at 67.9%.

All athletes selected for the camp will be eligible for the 2014 Australian U17 program. From this camp, male and female teams will be selected for the 2012 FIBA Oceania Youth Championships in La Trobe, Victoria, from the 24th November - 2nd December.

South Australian Tracy Yorke will lead the Women's team in La Trobe, fellow South Australian Justin Schueller is assistant coach of the Men's team and Judi Roberts has been appointed team manager for the Women.
