Lauren Jackson has been named as the flag bearer for the Australian Olympic Team in London.

Basketball Australia has welcomed today’s announcement that women’s basketball superstar Lauren Jackson has been selected to carry the Australian flag at the 2012 London Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
Jackson was named as the flag bearer by Nick Green, the Chef de Mission of the Australian Olympic Team, earlier today.
She will become the second basketballer to receive the ultimate Australian sporting honour in the past four Games, following in the footsteps of Boomers legend Andrew Gaze who carried the flag into the stadium for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
