Basketball SA wish to announce that that after eleven years as CEO, Mark Hubbard has tendered his resignation to commence the next chapter of his career.
Following the restructure of BASA in 2006, Mark was appointed as inaugural CEO of Basketball SA, the peak body for Basketball in South Australia. During his time with Basketball SA Mark has led a dedicated team to develop basketball to be the sport of choice for in excess of 25,000 members. Under Mark’s leadership the organisation’s achievements include developing strategies for increasing female participation, managing the MAC Adelaide Lightning during transition to new owners, developing a high-performance partnership with University of South Australia and engaging with our members and the public through social media channels. Due to Mark’s significant work in the area, the sport will also have access to a number of new facilities to be completed over the next 18-24 months.
Mark leaves Basketball SA in a very strong position for future growth and we sincerely thank him for his contribution, drive, commitment and leadership during his tenure as CEO. Mark’s last day with Basketball SA will be October 16.
The process to appoint a new CEO will commence shortly and we expect to announce a replacement in the next couple of months. The Commission has appointed Mark Lampshire to the role of Executive Chairman until the recruitment of a new CEO takes place.
The Commission wishes Mark every success as he progresses his career.
Mark Lampshire, Chairman on behalf of the
Basketball SA Commission
